RV Capital of the World
Did you know that 80 percent of global RV production is located in Elkhart, Indiana and the surrounding region? That’s a lot of RVs.
Elkhart wasn’t always the RV capital of the world, but we’re sure glad it is now. Back in the mid-1930s, three trailer-loving Hoosiers decided that with Indiana’s automotive history, central location, and dedicated workforce, it was the perfect place to start a backyard trailer business. Business boomed and many employees went on to open their own trailer businesses. By 1948, Elkhart had a hundred companies in the area and was officially dubbed the “Trailer Capital of the World.” Since then, automotive manufacturing in Indiana has only continued to grow, paving the way for RV success in Elkhart.
MWSS is proud to be headquartered in Elkhart, a small town with a big influence. Not only has Elkhart been the perfect location to call home, but we get to be neighbors with many of the world’s top RV manufacturers, parts suppliers, and even the RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum.
